I am in the midst of finals for my classes right now, so I haven't posted anything for a bit. I'm planning on adding some more fun fiber things as soon as I am done with classes (yay!) in a few weeks.
I've been further debating the spinning wheel issue and have come across another wheel that I much prefer over the ones I have previously mentioned.
Its the Fricke S-160-DT... and here's some specs:
- Drive ratios are 5.7:1, 6.8:1, 8.7:1, 12:1, and 19.4:1
- There are double ball bearings on wheel and flyer axels
- Single ball bearing at footman connection to axle lever
- Total height of these spinners is 30 inches
- Height of orifice is 28 inches.
- Carrying weight is approximately 13 pounds.
- Delta orifice is standard (optional 3/8" round orifice with threading hook an additional $15)
- The frame is made of various hardwoods, such as ash, white or red oak.
- Wheel is MDF with attractive wood grain finish on both sides.
- Includes 4 bobbins and a Kate with yarn guide.
